My F.A.Q. – How Much Of You Is In Your Books?

My F.A.Q. - How Much Of You Is In Your Books?

This is a killer question, especially for a writer of romance/erotica/crime books! The simple answer is none of my characters are based on any real person, myself included, and I can categorically deny ever committing a crime or being swept off my feet by anyone other than my husband. ;-) However the inspiration for a plot, scene, or even just a line, often comes from a real experience, usually a fleeting moment or offhand comment that hangs around in my brain until it's needed. And a lot of more info

My F.A.Q. – How Do You Decide On A Title?

My F.A.Q. – How Do You Decide On A Title?

It's been a while since I did an FAQ and I was asked this great question the other day. Titles are something like blurbs for me - a necessary evil. As an author, you want to use your blurb to show your readers a taste of what they can expect, but you don't want to give everything away, and it's the same with a title. It needs to suit the book, draw attention, be meaningful and memorable, and these days, be readable at thumbnail size. For more info

My F.A.Q. – Do You Write More Than One Story At A Time?

My F.A.Q. – Do You Write More Than One Story At A Time?

This is a great question and another one that each author will have a different answer to. In my case, yes I do. Mainly because I have a lot of stories in my head trying to get out, and partly because it helps when I get a bit blocked with one story, I can move ahead with another one. I also write multiple stories in different genres at the same time. I think it helps my short attention span too :-) Until next more info

My F.A.Q. – When Did You Write Your First Book?

My F.A.Q. - When Did You Write Your First Book?

This is a very interesting question and I have several answers, depending on your definition of "first". The first full story (to "The End") I wrote for pleasure and not for a school assignment was a Science Fiction tale featuring all my best friends. The basic storyline was Star Trek with an all-female cast :-) I was in Grade 6 and I wore many a pencil down to the nub for that story! The first full story I wrote for a school assignment was in a creative more info

My F.A.Q. – Your Favourite Places To Read?

My F.A.Q. - Your Favourite Places To Read?

I've seen this question go around lately and had a few people ask me mine, so I thought I'd add my top five into the mix :-) 1. Waiting for my children.  With music lessons, sports practice, and me generally being a taxi service, I have a selection of books on my phone which is just perfect to keep me occupied :-) 2. Snuggled up in bed. I used to do this every night (even under the blankets with a torch after lights out) but life is exhausting so more info
